As the first snow dusted the turrets of 1100AD kingdom, excitement stirred in every cottage and castle hall. Villagers bustled through the market square, gathering ribbons, candles, and spices to prepare for Christmas festivities.
The king, eager to make this year the grandest celebration yet, issued a royal decree that the palace gardens be transformed into a winter wonderland. Gardeners pruned the hedges, cleared fresh paths, and planted rows of vibrant red roses to bloom against the icy backdrop.
Spaces were carefully marked for towering Christmas trees that would soon glitter with enchanted lanterns. Skilled sculptors arrived from distant towns to carve ice into shimmering figures of knights, stags, and angels.
As each day passed, the kingdom grew brighter with color and light, filling the hearts of its people with joyful anticipation. By Christmas Eve, kingdom stood as a breathtaking blend of warmth and winter magic, ready to welcome the holiday with open arms.

Saint Nicholas Day 2025<
https://hope.1100ad.com/images/unit/hero/artefacts/a4/a4_st_nicholas_medallion.jpg
St. Nicholas Day traces its origins to the 4th-century bishop Nicholas of Myra, whose reputation for secret gift-giving and protection of the vulnerable made him one of medieval Europe’s most beloved saints.
By the early Middle Ages, his feast day on December 6 became widely celebrated across Christian regions. In many areas, especially in northern and central Europe, children placed shoes or small baskets out the night before, hoping St. Nicholas would fill them with nuts, fruit, or sweet breads.
Medieval communities also held special church services honoring the saint’s generosity and miracles. Skilled craftsmen of our kingdom created beautiful silver medallions of Saint Nicholas to mark the occasion, offering them as treasured keepsakes and symbols of devotion. Monasteries and cathedral schools often organized a “Boy Bishop” tradition, where a child symbolically took on the bishop’s role for the day, presiding over lighthearted festivities. Seasonal markets sometimes opened as well, selling small gifts, treats, and religious tokens.
Overall, St. Nicholas Day blended reverence for the saint with celebrations that emphasized kindness, community, and charitable giving.

Thanksgiving 2025
https://hope.1100ad.com/images/layout/gold/localization/en/thanksgiving.jpg
Thanksgiving Day has its roots in early 17th-century harvest celebrations held by European settlers in North America. The most famous early feast took place in 1621 when the Pilgrims at Plymouth shared a meal with the Wampanoag people, giving thanks for a successful harvest. Though this event later became symbolic, harvest festivals were common in many cultures long before that gathering. Thanksgiving did not become an official, regular holiday until much later. In 1863, during the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of Thanksgiving to promote unity and gratitude. Over time, the holiday grew into a cherished American tradition centered on family gatherings, feasts, and reflection.
Today it is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November, blending historical remembrance with modern customs such as parades and football games.

Our esteemed king has announced a lavish celebration in honor of Thanksgiving’s grand tradition. Yet whispers drift through the palace that most of the royal turkeys have escaped, hiding themselves in curious corners of the kingdom.
The court now buzzes with concern, for the feast cannot shine without its famed centerpiece. To inspire swift action, the king has promised a splendid reward to those clever and courageous enough to recover the runaway birds. And so the realm stirs with excitement as hopeful helpers set out on this unusual, feathery quest.

A celebration of such grandeur demands an exquisite transformation of the royal gardens, worthy of the feast to come. To achieve this, the king has granted a full week for the relocation of trees, alcoves, and fountains, letting the landscape reshape itself like a living tapestry. Gardeners now bustle with creative fervor, guiding roots, stonework, and shimmering water to their newly chosen homes.
