Oktoberfest is the world's most famous beer festival, celebrated annually in Munich. The idea of creating a holiday belongs not to the king, not to the minister or any other high-ranking person. The tradition of Oktoberfest was laid by a simple non-commissioned officer of the Bavarian National Guard, proposing to celebrate the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Teresa of Saxe-Hildburghausen in an unusual way.
